I have been reading Advocate magazine for years. It is the antidote for the lack of coverage of gay issues in all of the other magazines. They help me stay in contact with the gay community throughout the country and the rest of the world. Don't let the cute guys on the cover confuse you. There are actually articles in there that are worth reading (and some nice pictures, too).

The Advocate Magazine is a very interesting magazine that explores a huge diversity of topics. It is well written but not overly written. Pretty much the entire magazine is written about gay/lesbian issues but it is a very welcoming magazine to read regardless of your own orientation. Most of the articles are short in length but the journalists do a good job of getting across the point of the article. The Advocate also gives updates on what is happening concerning the GLBT community throughout the US and occasionally the world. It is not a long magazine and can really be finished cover to cover in a couple of days. It comes wrapped in plastic and anyone delivering or retrieving your mail cannot tell what it is - this is a nice feature of people who don't want their private lives opened up.
