I have been subscribing to Model Railroader magazine off and on since the late 1980s. It has been an extremely important help in my endeavors as a model railroad enthusiast. Each and every month they have tips, ideas and helps for those of us who find our love of the iron horses - from the earliest steam driven locomotives to the newest Amtrak phases of paint schemes. It is a magazine that allows my love of prototypical railroads to become a reality. My father worked for and retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. It was "in my blood", so to speak. My life didn't coincide with history, though. After my first tour in the Army ('68-'70) the railroads were beginning to phase out passenger trains and were also cutting back on non or low profitable branchs/districts. But thanks to the Model Railroader magazine (and Trains magazine) I can relive the "glory days of railroading". You will not make a mistake by subscribing. Go ahead, light up your day with subscription.
